Why You Need A Professional!

Do you think it would be a good idea to perform surgery on yourself? There is a lot to be said in today's “do-it-yourself” culture with everything from having your groceries delivered right to your front door to looking up videos on YouTube to see how to fix that leaky toilet. With the advent of the internet and the desire for everyone to have their 15 minutes of fame. That expression by the way, was inspired by Andy Warhol's words "In the future, everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes. Now the question is : Should you? Should you learn just enough to get you into trouble? DO you think that someone who is a professional would know some trick of the trade that would make their work far superior to that which a do-it-yourself-er could accomplish?

If you wanted to know how a great magician like David Copperfield saws a woman in half with a chain saw, do you think that just because you now know the secret it would be wise for you to go out and perform it? Volunteers anyone? The same rings true for the video professional. If you are in need of a video production that has to have that polished look about it, it is a good chance that unless you have years of experience, you are not going to get those wanted results with your I-Phone. A professional will understand and better still know how to use things like HD vs SD video or the difference between PAL vs NTSC as well as the difference in frame rates. Which is better for your production? 29.97 maybe or 25 fps would suit you better. How about the sound production? What is the best format to use? What platform will you use to get the best possible audio quality? Do you already have all the necessary equipment to shoot the best quality video? Have you ever seen a video that was shot and the sound had a very echoic sound to it? Do you know what caused that? How to fix it? A good professional will be able to deal with all these problems and some that are not mentioned here. So, can you shoot it yourself? Of course you can! Should you? Therein lies the question. We are all concerned with budgets and quality. Which is more important to you? DO you want a video that is obviously done on a shoe-string budget or one that has the look, sound and feel that is a professional shoot? In the end the choice is entirely up to you and your wallet but at least now you have something to think about.
